Who can access the NDIS?

Eligibility Requirements
1Age Requirement
You must be under 65 years old when you first apply for NDIS supports. If you're already receiving support from another system, you may be able to transition to the NDIS even if you're older.
2Disability Requirements
Your disability must be permanent and significantly reduce your ability to participate effectively in activities or perform tasks unless you have support. The disability must be attributable to one or more intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory or physical impairments or psychosocial disability.
3Residency Status
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa. You must also live in Australia and in an area where the NDIS is available.
